Fresh homegrown produce at Heather Restaurant
At Heather Restaurant we serve up fresh, homegrown produce picked daily from our gardens and polytunnels. As well as locally sourced and sustainable as possible, an added advantage for our customers is that they can see for themselves where our work in the garden translates to the restaurant’s menu.

The Moriarty’s of the Gap of Dunloe
Opened as a small souvenier shop in 1964 by Michael and Margaret Moriarty, today Moriarty’s is a landmark destination not only for shoppers but for food lovers, families and garden enthusiasts alike.
Located at the entrance to the Gap of Dunloe, just outside Killarney, it is a bright, spacious store and restaurant which caters for large tour groups, individuals and families.
“Quality has always been our motto. Quality of our goods and just as important, our customer service. Our exclusive range of tweeds, hand knits and jewellery are unrivalled anywhere.”
This ethos carries through to our restaurant Heather, where produce is carefully selected from the finest local artisan producers and our own kitchen garden.
The restaurant’s unique interior design blends beautifully with the exterior landscape and reflects the standards of the restaurant’s cuisine: freshness, originality and authenticity. The menu changes regularly depending on the availability of local meats, seafood and vegetables bursting with flavour and freshness. The building is nestled amongst beautiful landscaped gardens, where customers can learn about the flora, fauna, history & geology of the surrounding area through our detailed information boards.
Our Head Chef

Our vision is to produce fresh, simply prepared, seasonal food at this vibrant venue.
As well as produce from our own garden and polytunnels, we take advantage of the wealth of local artisan food producers, organic farmers and wild Atlantic seafood that the South West of Ireland has to offer. Heather is set on 5 acres of multi-level gardens with breathtaking views of the McGillycuddy Reeks.
